A video showing the progress being made on the new Kelso High School is now available online, giving a sneak peek inside the new facility, still on course to be completed by Autumn 2017.

Work on the new school is being delivered by Scottish Borders Council’s Development Partner, Hub South East and its appointed contractor, Morrison Construction.

The video shows key areas of the school internally and externally, from the impressive glassed floor to roof reception area and the light filled library, to the classrooms with spectacular views, and the outdoor pitches.

Once complete, the £22.5m project will have extensive sport facilities for students and the community to use as well as an eco-garden pond, orchard, allotment, outdoor classroom and arts and craft garden.

Richard Park, Hub South East’s Operations Director said:

“It’s exciting to see the progress on site at Kelso. Our contractor Morrison Construction, and as its supply chain, is doing a great job and the building is really taking shape.

“We look forward to handing over the school to Scottish Borders Council in the autumn so pupils, staff and the local community can enjoy their new high quality facilities.”

Martin Joyce, Scottish Borders Council’s Service Director for Assets and Infrastructure, said:

“We are pleased with the progress of the new school and look forward to the opening which will provide a first-class facility for pupils, staff and the Kelso community for years to come.”
