Duns Primary School

Rather than a complete new build project, creating the new Duns Primary School involved the refurbishment and remodelling of the B-listed former Berwickshire High School. The old High School had lay dormant since 2009, so the task of repairing and upgrading, was a challenge, especially given its listed status. The renovation involved a mixture of demolition and remodelling and the end result, is a fresh, modern and high quality two stream Primary School which still retains many of its original features.

We are absolutely delighted with the provision here. We really have managed to blend the old with the new. What Scottish Borders Council, Hub South East and Graham Construction have managed to create here for us is just amazing. Children are delighted with it, staff are overwhelmed and we’re just so grateful to have such a beautiful place for the children to learn in.
