The Hub South East team regularly supports a range of additional charities when the opportunity presents itself, either as a company or as individuals. Examples of this include:

DONATIONS

As a company, we have made the following donations since 2019:

  • We paid for our Project Director Eileen to do a skydive for Beatlie School – read more here.
  • Grassmarket Community Project’s Christmas Appeal 2021 & 2022
  • Morrison Construction’s Cycle Challenge 2021 for Alzheimer’s Scotland and CHAS
  • Hub South West’s Trussell Trust Appeal
  • Hub West’s Winter Warner Appeal with PEEK 2020, 2021 and 2022
  • Raffle prize to Move On’s annual charity auction
  • Raffle prizes to NHS Lothian’s Royal Edinburgh Campus Fayre
  • Raffle prizes to Scott Brownrigg’s Quiz night for Health in Mind
  • Raffle prize to the Women in Construction Awards 2019 & 2022
  • Raffle prize to Grassmarket Community Project’s Burns Supper 2019
  • A number of new kids’ jackets and wellies for Hub West and PEEK’s 2019 Winter Warmer Appeal.

TEAM FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

Within our office, individuals have contributed to the following causes:

  • Our colleague Eileen’s Skydive for Beatlie – read more here
  • Our colleague Fiona’s swim for Brain Cancer UK
  • Donations of cash and money to the Ukranian Humanitarian crisis
  • Virtual Macmillan Coffee morning
  • 2020 Kiltwalk – Joanne, our comms manager, walked 27 miles with her family, raising £2200 for Grassmarket Community Project
  • West Lothian, Trussell Trust and Kekewich Foodbank donations
  • Mission Christmas Toy Appeals – 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022
  • Toastie Tuesday (we eat in on Tuesday lunchtime and money is donated to charity)
  • Morrison Construction Rowing the Atlantic 2019 (team members rowed and the company donated – raising money for CHAS and Breast Cancer Care Scotland).

VOLUNTEERING

Company volunteering days are used in Hub South East. the following team members have taken advantage of the opportunity to give something back to local causes:

  • Fiona Tracey: Ripple Project and Safeguarding in the Community with local church
  • Martin Hensman: On the Board of Blackwood Housing Association
  • Joanne MacDougall: On the Board of Grassmarket Community Project
  • Richard Park: Grangemouth High School – S2 employability event and senior phase networking
